Why does my video recording have no audio or sound?

If your recorded video plays with no sound, the microphone may be muted, the speaker volume may be turned off, or your phone/computer may be playing audio through the wrong output device.

✅ Most audio issues are fixed by turning Record Audio ON and checking playback volume.

Make sure the microphone icon does not show as muted and that Record Audio is set to ON.

What the microphone icons mean:
🎙️ Microphone ON — audio recording is enabled.
🎙️🚫 Microphone OFF — audio recording is muted/disabled.
✅ Quick tip: On many ROVE models, pressing the UP button while recording can mute or unmute the microphone.

⚠️ Important: If Record Audio is set to OFF, newly recorded videos will not include sound.

Playback volume

Recommended setting:
Speaker Volume → Med (Default) or High
Avoid using OFF if you want to hear playback from the dash cam speaker.
✅ Note: Speaker Volume affects playback sound, button beep volume, and boot-up chime volume through the camera's built-in speaker.

Phone playback

If using the ROVE App, check your phone volume and Bluetooth

When viewing videos from the ROVE App, make sure your smartphone volume is turned up. Also check if your phone is connected to Bluetooth headphones, your vehicle audio system, or another external speaker.

⚠️ Tip: Temporarily turn Bluetooth OFF on your phone and replay the video to confirm the audio is coming from your phone speaker.

Computer playback

If using PC/Mac, check the audio output

If the video has audio but you cannot hear it on your computer, make sure your computer's sound output is set to the correct speaker, headphones, or monitor.

Check the following:
• Computer volume is not muted
• Correct speaker/headphone output is selected
• Bluetooth headphones are disconnected if not being used
• Try playing the file in a different media player if needed
