Why is my video blurry or out of focus?Updated 16 days ago
🎞️
Remove lens film
New dash cams may have a clear protective film over the lens that must be removed.
🧼
Clean glass and lens
Fingerprints, dust, windshield fog, and interior haze can make footage look soft or cloudy.
🎥
Check resolution
Lower recording resolutions will look less detailed than 4K or 2.5K settings.
Before you begin
Blurry video is usually caused by something in front of the lens
The dash cam can only record clearly if the lens and windshield are clear. Protective film, fingerprints, dust, fog, windshield residue, glare, or condensation can all make the video appear blurry even when the camera is working normally.
Follow the steps below in order. After each step, record a short test video in daylight and review the original video file.
