Clarity Priority vs
Color Priority Mode

Your ROVE R2-4K Dual Pro offers two distinct video quality settings. This guide helps you understand the difference and choose the right mode for every situation.

What are these two modes?

The ROVE R2-4K Dual Pro gives you two unique video quality settings that let you choose how your recordings are processed and rendered.

You can switch between modes at any time from the Video Settings menu on your dash cam — there is no wrong choice, only the right one for your driving situation.

🔍
Clarity Priority
Prioritizes sharpness and fine detail over color vibrancy.
🎨
Color Priority
Enhances rich, vivid color reproduction over edge sharpness.
🔍 Clarity Priority

Purpose
Prioritizes sharpness and fine detail in every frame
Best For
Capturing license plates, road signs, fine details, and critical identifiers — especially in challenging lighting.
How it works
1
Adjusts image processing to reduce motion blur for sharper moving objects
2
Maximizes resolution sharpness for the crispest possible footage
3
Slightly reduces color vibrancy to emphasize fine details over saturation
✅
Recommended when
You want the most accurate details for evidence, accident reports, or identifying vehicles and objects.
🎨 Color Priority

Purpose
Enhances and preserves rich, vivid colors in every recording
Best For
Daily driving, scenic road trips, and situations where natural, beautiful-looking video playback matters most.
How it works
1
Balances brightness and saturation for visually appealing, true-to-life footage
2
Maintains more natural tones in daylight and city driving environments
3
Slightly less emphasis on edge sharpness compared to Clarity Priority — color realism is the priority
✅
Recommended when
You want realistic and colorful recordings, similar to how the eye naturally perceives the scene — ideal for road trips and scenic drives.
