Why do I need hardwire kit for 24-Hour (24-HR) parking mode?Updated a year ago

The Hardwire Kit is essential for 24-Hour Parking Mode because it provides continuous power, enables automatic mode switching when the engine is off, and includes voltage monitoring to prevent battery drain.

Without it, your dash cam cannot operate in parking mode or protect your vehicle effectively

In order for the 24-Hour Parking Mode to work when you turn off the car's engine, the camera needs power. The Hardwire Kit is needed to connect your dash cam to the car's fuse box to get that power from the car's battery.

To enable the dash cam to know when the car's engine is turned off automatically, ACC power cut-off is necessary. This allows the camera to switch off regular recording mode and enter 24-Hour Parking Mode using power from the car's battery.

The Hardwire Kit also acts as a voltage monitor. When the battery's voltage starts to drop, the hardwire kit's voltage monitor cuts off power to the dash cam (e.g., at 11.8, 12.0, 12.2, or 12.4V), ensuring enough power is left to start your car next time.

Without the hardwire kit, these features cannot be achieved. Most importantly, without the power voltage monitor and power cut-off feature, the dash cam would not know when to turn off when the voltage is low.

This could drain the car's battery, leaving you stranded or requiring a jump start.

That is why it is necessary to have the hardwire kit for the 24-Hour Parking Mode to work automatically and flawlessly.
