ROVE R3 getting error "Defective memory card"Updated 9 months ago

If your ROVE R3 dash cam displays a "Defective Memory Card" error, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Skip the Error Message:

When the error message appears, tap the OK button repeatedly until it disappears.
This may take several taps and a few seconds.

The goal is to clear the error message from the screen.

Format the Memory Card:

Once the error message is cleared, tap anywhere(1) on the screen to access the system menu. Look for the gear icon(2), which represents camera settings, and tap on it.

Within the settings menu, locate the option to format the micro-SD card(image 3). Select this option and confirm to proceed with the formatting process. Formatting the card will erase all data stored on it, so ensure you have backed up any important files beforehand.

Once the formatting process is complete, your dash cam should return to normal functionality. The error message should no longer appear, and you can resume recording videos without any issues. Test your dashcam to ensure that it is functioning properly by recording a short video and reviewing the footage.

Following these steps carefully should help you resolve the "Defective Memory Card" error on your ROVE R3 dash cam. If you encounter any further issues or if the error persists, please refer to the user manual for additional troubleshooting steps or contact ROVE customer support for assistance.
