My R2-4K PRO Dashcam does not hold a chargeUpdated 14 hours ago

First, understand that all dash cams, regardless of which brand the user uses, either have very small Li-ion batteries (e.g., First Generation of ROVE R2-4K ) or a built-in Supercapacitor (e.g., USB-C R2-4K, R2-4K PRO, R2-4K DUAL, R3) to save that last video file safely before shutting off the dash cam, in case the power gets disconnected due to an accident or during daily turning off your vehicle.

Now, all dash cams must be plugged into the power at all times for continuous recording, regardless of which brand you purchase.

ROVE R2-4K PRO uses a Supercapacitor instead of a small internal battery.

We decided to equip our dashcams with a Supercapacitor as:

🔶 Super-capacitors are a premium alternative to a lithium battery.

🔶 Supercapacitors are more reliable because they are more resistant to heat, unlike batteries. They don't pose the risk of overheating and exploding, which can cause a fire.

🔶 Supercapacitors extend the overall product life span and are built to last, whereas internal batteries lose their potency after certain cycles of use.

We hope this clarifies the issue and that you can choose an option that works best for you. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any further questions or concerns.
