Can I use my own cord with Type-C to Type C ports?Updated 13 days ago
đ
Use the ROVE cable
The original ROVE power cable is the safest and most compatible option for powering the dash cam.
âĄ
Avoid unstable power
Some USB-C vehicle ports and third-party cables may not provide stable or compatible power output.
đ
Use an adapter
If your car only has USB-C ports, use a USB-A to USB-C adapter with the original ROVE cable.
Why we do not recommend it
Not all USB-C ports and cables provide the same power output
USB Type-C ports can vary depending on the vehicle manufacturer, port design, cable quality, and power-delivery behavior. Some USB-C to USB-C cables or vehicle USB-C ports may not provide stable power for a dash cam.
If the power is unstable or incompatible, the dash cam may randomly restart, fail to turn on properly, or behave inconsistently.

Quick Summary
What should I use?
â
Recommended Use the original ROVE power cable included with your dash cam.
â
For USB-C-only vehicles Use the original ROVE cable together with a USB-A to USB-C adapter.
â ď¸ Not recommended Avoid powering the dash cam directly with a third-party USB-C to USB-C cable because compatibility and power stability may vary.
