Can I connect my dashcam to CarPlay or Android Auto?Updated 2 hours ago
📶
Dash cam uses WiFi
The ROVE App connects directly to the dash cam’s WiFi network to view videos, download files, and adjust settings.
🚘
Wireless CarPlay uses WiFi too
Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto also need your phone’s WiFi connection to connect to the vehicle.
🔌
Wired is the workaround
If your car supports wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto, your phone can usually use the cable for the car and WiFi for the dash cam.
Why this happens
Your phone is trying to use WiFi for two different connections
To connect your phone to the ROVE dash cam, your phone must connect directly to the dash cam’s WiFi network. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto also require your phone to connect to your vehicle using WiFi.
Since most smartphones can only maintain one active WiFi connection at a time, the dash cam WiFi connection and wireless CarPlay/Android Auto can conflict with each other.

Quick Summary
Can both work at the same time?
📶 Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto + ROVE WiFi usually cannot run together Both systems need your phone’s WiFi connection, so they can conflict.
🔌 Wired CarPlay/Android Auto is the best workaround Use the car cable for CarPlay/Android Auto and connect your phone to dash cam WiFi for the ROVE App.
📱 Temporarily switch when using the ROVE App Disconnect wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, connect to dash cam WiFi, then use the ROVE App.
